Q & A

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We can only accommodate those guests who were formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you receive a plus one it will appear on your invite. We'd like to keep our wedding intimate with our closest family and friends.

Question

Is there parking on site?

Answer

Tate House provides parking for both ceremony and reception. There is a large parking lot where you will be directed to if you choose to drive to our wedding. Be aware that Uber and Lyft are limited to non-existent in the area. Please consume alcohol responsibly to ensure your safe journey home.

Question

Will there be transportation provided to and from the venue?

Answer

If you plan to stay within the Big Canoe area, there will be Shuttles arranged for transportation to and from the Tate House for those in need from a specific location. If you are outside the Big Canoe area each guest will be responsible for their own transportation. We do recommend carpooling with family members, friends, etc. The venue is located in a more remote area, so it may be difficult to catch a ride with Uber or Lyft.

Question

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with you and can’t wait for an unforgettable time! An open bar with beer, wine and signature drinks will be available throughout the event for everyone to enjoy. We kindly ask that no outside food or drinks be brought onto the property, as requested by our venue. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids Invited?

Answer

We have chosen to make our special day an adults-only celebration to ensure all guests, especially parents, can fully immerse themselves in the joy of the occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to join us for our big day! We can't wait to celebrate with you.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are requesting semi-formal attire for the wedding. Our venue is classy and historical so we would like to match the setting. We suggest that men wear a suit or sport coat in any color and women wear a knee-length or longer cocktail dress or pantsuit.

Question

Is the wedding venue outdoors?

Answer

No. Our ceremony will be in a climate controlled covered pavilion, the cocktail hour is both indoors and outdoors - guest preference, and the reception for dinner and dancing will be inside the formal dining area. The Tate House has beautiful grounds and buildings and we want our guests to see as much as possible. During cocktail hour, the interior of the mansion will be open and we encourage you to take a few moments to enjoy a walk through it.

Question

Cell Reception is spotty and limited on site

Answer

Please be aware that most cellular services are spotty at limited at the venue. We have discovered that more calls will go through than texts when trying to reach someone. In addition, when leaving the venue, you will only be able to get directions after you have started driving down the road. So please be prepared so you know where you are going.
