Braden had started serving his mission in Pennsylvania. His first area was in Reading. Annie was a member in the congregation he was serving in. She had a job at a local ice cream shop and would offer free ice cream to the missionaries when they would like to have something sweet to eat. Braden and his companion took advantage of that offer and would satisfy their sweet tooth. After many ice cream stops in Reading, Braden was transferred to a new area in the mission. Annie attended school in Utah and they then would email every week. Annie decided to serve a mission. She left for the Panama City, Panama mission and Braden and Annie continued to email each other while she was on her mission. A great friendship and love had grown during their missions and Annie like all missionaries came home. Braden came to see her in Pennsylvania when she came home and they were able to have their first date! The love that they had for each other on their missions could now grow even stronger now that they were together. Not too long after, Annie came out to Arizona to visit him and to meet his family. It was during this trip that Braden had decided that he wanted to ask Annie to marry him. The day after Annie arrived to Arizona they walked the grounds of the Gilbert Arizona temple and it was there that Braden asked Annie to be his eternal companion and she said YES!
