A mutual friend asked us to help with an anniversary party she was throwing for her parents. We both had interest in each other at the time but weren't willing and/or ready to act on it just yet. Five years later, we reconnect at our circuit pioneer meeting over Zoom, and we haven't been able to stop talking with each other since.
Braden proposed at the same place they had their first date, and on their anniversary. Alexis asked him after the proposal, “Did I ever actually say yes?” (answer: not out loud, or with actual words) but Braden figured her 360 degree spin, violent head nodding, and covering her mouth with her hands meant about the same thing. She had also painted her nails that morning as she hoped it was coming that day! Women.
We both recognize that the most successful marriages rely heavily on a third person - Jehovah. We want to include Jehovah in every aspect of our lives. By keeping our life simple and living according to His standards and principles, we're gearing up to extend ourselves in his service as much as possible - whether that's SKE, serving where the need is greater, Bethel service, or anything else in line with His will.
