Our story began deep in the heart of Texas—Austin, to be exact—where, like so many modern romances, we found the love of our life on a dating app. What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into shared laughter, Arrested Development memes, and passionate debates about the best places to eat and drink in Austin. Our first date was a night of pizza, beer, and a few unexpected discoveries—most notably that Zach once rode sheep in the rodeo. Brad decided he was curious enough to see where things might go with this mutton-busting Montana kid, while Zach realized he just might catch a second date (and maybe even a wave) with this Southern California kid with a Carlsbad glow. We spent two great years in Austin together, and then in November 2021, we packed up our lives in a Penske truck and moved to San Diego. Along the way, our truck broke down in Yuma, but eventually we made it settled into our new life. We've been here ever since, enjoying the beach, tennis, the food scene, farmers markets, and everything else that America's Finest City has to offer.
In October 2024, we packed our bags for a trip to Spain. Alongside our shirts, pants, swim trunks, and our best beach attire were two gold rings—each secretly tucked away without the other knowing. We had both agreed that we wanted to propose to each other as a surprise, but we also knew that if it was going to happen that year, Spain was the most likely place! The second half of our trip was spent on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Majorca. With its mountains, blue waters, and incredible food, it was the perfect setting for a proposal. Zach was the first to propose in the mountain village of Deià, high on the hillside with views of the ocean and sea cliffs below. The mix of nerves and high altitude made it all a bit of a blur for Zach, but the moment was magical. It was followed by a wonderful dinner at El Olivo, where we watched the sun set over the island. A few nights later in Palma, Brad proposed on a bluff overlooking the ocean during what might have been one of the most spectacular sunsets we’ve ever seen. Unlike Zach, he was much more composed, perfectly capturing the beauty of the island and the story of our last four years together. As the sun dipped below the horizon, he popped the question, making it an unforgettable moment! The evening ended with a fantastic dinner on a private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean.
We are both beyond excited to celebrate this incredible weekend with you! We hope that from the moment you touch down in San Diego, you can soak in the sun, surf, and good vibes. We're so grateful to be able to share this time together. We can't wait to see you there!
