Wedding Day Attire

Answer

Join us for a stylish evening as we celebrate our wedding! Our dress code is cocktail attire and we encourage guests to dress in bright or vibrant colors to match our tropical theme. We look forward to seeing you in your elegant outfits!

Question

What meal will be served?

Answer

There will be a delicious, full buffet dinner served at the reception, including the following options: Grilled Pollo Amarillo Blackened Mahi Mahi with a Poblano Beurre Blanc sauce (dairy) Kale Salad Lemon Couscous Roasted Asparagus Roasted Vegetables Rolls At Cocktail hour, we will be serving Spicy Szechuan Potstickers.

Question

Kids?

Answer

Due to space restraints and the amount of kids in our family and friends network being so large, we unfortunately won't be able to have kids at the wedding. We hope the parents can have a nice night out on us to help celebrate!

Question

Beverages

Answer

We will have an open bar with an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine, and a few choice liquor options (no shots, but can serve on the rocks or with a mixer). Cocktail hour will include a couple of specialty cocktails brought to you by John Brown Underground, from Lawrence, KS. The after party will include all of the above options, so feel free to join us in the basement speakeasy after the reception! If you want to explore downtown, there are plenty of great places in the Crossroads district (where we will be) that are open until last call at 1:30am.

Question

What hotel options are there?

Answer

See the "Travel" tab to see the two hotel options that we have room blocks at. There will be no events held at the hotels, so if you prefer to stay elsewhere that is fine! There are ample hotel options downtown and in the Crown Center area, as well as many airbnb options for groups to stay together.

Question

Airport Transportation

Answer

Ubers/Lyfts are readily available from the airport and can range from $30-60 per airport trip, depending on time of day. There are ample rental car companies available, if you feel the need for a car. Once in downtown KC, public transportation is simple with the free Street Car along Main St, as well as plenty of rideshares.

Question

Venue Parking

Answer

There is free street parking in front of the venue, as well as inexpensive garage parking right above Oak and Steel Bar, just 500ft from the front door of the venue. If you arrive early and get a drink at Oak and Steel, they will validate your parking ticket, as well!

Question

ADA Accessibility

Answer

The venue is comprised of 3 floors: the main entrance goes right into the Ceremony room, upstairs is the Reception ballroom, and the basement is a speakeasy for late night. There is elevator access to each floor for those who are not able to take the stairs.

Question

Pictures

Answer

We will be taking some pictures with family and friends during the cocktail hour. We sincerely would like pictures with everyone who comes, so if we aren't able to schedule a picture with you during cocktail hour, find us during the reception for a selfie! There will also be a photo booth to help commemorate the occasion.

Question

What is the weather like in KC in early March?

Answer

That is a real unkown, as we can see a perfect 70 degree sunny day or a 31 degree snowy day in that time of year, so plan to check the weather report as it gets nearer to help with packing the right clothes.
