How do I get to the venue from the Blue Ridge Parkway

Answer

From 81-S, take exit 6 and use the right two lanes to turn onto Elm Ave. In .2 miles, turn left onto S. Jefferson St. In .4 miles, turn left onto Walnut Ave SE. In .6 miles, continue straight onto the JP Fishburn Parkway. In 1.6 miles, continue onto the Mill Mountain Parkway. In 2.4 miles, turn left onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Continue on the parkway for 5 miles and turn right at mile marker 115. Head straight into the park. Please note that the Parkway is closed from mile marker 115 to 121, and you will be forced to turn right at the entrance of Explore Park.

How do I get to the venue from downtown Roanoke?

Answer

From downtown Roanoke: Off of I-581 North take exit 6, turn left onto Elm Avenue, to third stop light. Turn right on 13th Street (changes to Bennington Ave. along the river) Follow to the round about at the intersection with Riverland Road (Route 116) circling clockwise all the way around the intersection to head eastbound. Immediately take next left turn onto Rutrough Road (Route 658) Continue 4.5 miles to the Explore Park Service Entrance on your left just past the little brick church.

Where do I park?

Answer

Parking is available at the Arthur Taubman Center. Mount Union Church is located through the TreeTop park. As this is an active park, cars are not allowed at Mount Union Church during park hours. However, golf cart service is provided from the Arthur Taubman Center to Mount Union Church. You may walk the path to the church as well.

How are you managing COVID-19?

Answer

As your health and safety are of the upmost importance and in adherence to Virginia social gathering requirements, this event is small and intimate with a maximum of 50 guests. Masks are required at and during the service as well as when appropriate during the dining experience. Social distancing is strongly recommended.

Is it ok to only attend the service?

Answer

Absolutely! During this unprecendented health crisis, we understand if you would prefer to abstain from the reception. We encourage you to attend events based on your comfort level.

What type of meal will be served?

Answer

The bride and groom will be offering a catered served buffet meal. What is a served buffet meal you ask, it is a buffet setting in which servers will dispense food on your plate in order to limit the handling of utensils and ensure individual safety.
