Like all epic love stories, this one starts on a boat! Well, sort of. Brad & Kate officially met in Summer 2015 when a big group of Phoenix Suns employees rented a boat at Lake Pleasant. Kate didn't work at the Suns anymore, but was still friends with several of her former co-workers. Introductions were made, but Kate stayed in the front of the boat while Brad and his friends stayed in the back of the boat and had no interaction at all. Fast forward to another boat trip! After boating was over, Kate & her good friend Sarah decided to keep the party going & head out to Valley Bar with some of Sarah's other friends, including Brad. Sarah left to get a drink and Kate & Brad were left to their awkward small talk. Fortunately, everyone had a few more drinks and played a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity where Brad was impressed with Kate’s very inappropriate selections. About a week later, Brad messaged Kate saying, "Kate Myers is a Cubs fan?!" which everyone knows is definitely the way to Kate's heart! Brad & Kate started messaging for the next week or so getting to know each other and Brad invited Kate to join in his friend Arvind's birthday festivities (Beer Olympics - yay!). They ended up having a great first date…so much so that they broke the rules and hung out the next day to watch Casablanca & eat Chino Banditos. <3

Fast forward to 4 years later… As girlfriends sometimes do, Kate was growing a little impatient and wanted that bling on her finger! Brad promised that Kate would be engaged by the end of September 2019, and made sure to let Kate know she should keep the second weekend in September open on her calendar to throw her off! On Friday, August 31st, Kate had plans to go out with her friends Megan, Kelsey, and Sarah to a dinner theater to go see a show that night, meeting up first at Sarah’s house. Kate was running a little late, but walked in through the side gate to meet everyone in the backyard. To her surprise, Brad had set up an absolutely perfect proposal with most of their friends watching in the background. Afterwards, everyone headed over to a nearby restaurant to celebrate where Kate was surprised with 3 of her best friends from college who had flown in for the special occasion! Brad made sure that the party continued the next day since we had rented out a giant boat at Lake Pleasant to party the afternoon away. Needless to say, it was the best weekend of Kate’s life…until 11/11/2021!
