Brad and Hallie's Sailing Engagement
Our Love Story By September 20, 2022, Brad and I had been on a few unforgettable dates and were already falling hard for each other. I was head over heels, and judging by the way he smiled at me and proudly introduced me to all his friends and family, I knew this relationship was something truly special. Our first date was on a Monday night, after I practically begged him to meet me for a beer at Highside Brewery (you should definitely check it out at the end of Main Street in Frisco!). I showed up fresh out of hot yoga, a little sweaty, totally carefree, and with zero expectations—because let’s be honest, I’d had my fair share of disappointing first dates. But this one was different. We ended up closing down the bar—literally, they’d mopped the floors and put every chair up—but I left with a spark in my heart. I remember thinking, Wow. I’m really attracted to this guy. He’s fun to talk to, and he seems genuinely kind. By our second date that Thursday, we were at a Greensky Bluegrass concert at Dillon Amphitheater, dancing under the stars and running into mutual friends who were already cheering us on. It felt so natural and easy being with him. That night, while we danced to Van Morrison’s “Sweet Thing”—which is now our song—he kissed me for the first time, and the rest is history. From there, we were pretty much inseparable. Brad met my rafting family, my work crew, and my closest friends near and far. I was so proud to share my love for this intelligent, adventurous, handsome, and big-hearted man. And to top it all off—he’s from Wisconsin too! But with the perfect Colorado spirit of adventure to match mine. I truly met my match. Most importantly, Dilly loved him. He’s the best dog dad and takes Dil to swim at the Frisco Marina docks once or twice a week. Seeing them together fills me with so much joy. Brad is my favorite travel partner, my home, and the one who makes ordinary days feel extraordinary. I’m endlessly excited to keep building this beautiful life together. It took a few love stories to find the one, but it was all worth it to find my person. ❤️
