Both the ceremony & reception are located at "Roots & Roses" which is nestled in the serene countryside of Cochrane, Alberta. This whimsical wooded setting is located about an hour from Calgary, amidst the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains. 273039 Beaupre Creek Rd
This event is outdoors (inside a large tent), so plan for potential shifts in weather. There will be some patio heaters and blankets provided. We also want guests to be aware that there are 2 washroom stalls, and two porta-potties available.. so please don't use "nature" as a bathroom.
Cocktail or formal attire is permitted (dress pants or pant suits for women are ok). Summer colours are encouraged, especially oranges and shades of pink.
Guests will be seated at 3:45pm for the ceremony and it will start at 4:00pm sharp.
There will be a cocktail hour after the ceremony. Refreshments will be available and small bites will be provided (at 5:30pm) before we sit down for dinner at 6:30pm. The bar, which serves both alcoholic (small fee) and non-alcoholic beverages (free), will open at 5:00pm as well.
The reception will end at 12:30am and the final shuttle will be departing at 1:00am to return back to the "Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham" in Cochrane.

There will be charcuterie-style D'oeuvres during the cocktail hour and a buffet style dinner served by our catering staff. Meal/protein options are chosen and advance and guest must adhere to their selection, but all other sides are optional. Later in the evening, there will also be sandwiches and chips provided. Pop, water and juice are all free at the bar (self serve).
Yes there is a limited amount of parking available at the venue (around 30 spots, plus some overflow). If you are drinking at the reception, please plan alternate transportation. A shuttle that takes guests back into Cochrane will be provided (details on that are below).
We will have a shuttle bus running to and from the venue (273039 Beaupre Creek Rd) before the ceremony and after the reception. The pickup/dropoff location will be at the "Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham (5 Westside Drive) in Cochrane. Exact times are as follows: ♥ Leaves the Days Inn at 2:45pm (Ceremony starts at 4:00pm sharp - seated by 3:45pm) ♥ Returns to the Days Inn at 10:00pm ♥ Returns to the Days Inn at 11:30pm ♥ Returns to the Days Inn at 1:00am
Children are wonderful, but parents deserve a break every so often. That is why we are only accommodating children in the wedding party. We hope you understand!
Yes a cash (drink ticket) bar will open at 5:00pm and will remain open until 11:30pm (last call). ** Please bring cash as there is no ATM available on site.** We can also take e-transfer. The bar will serve canned beer/seltzers, high-balls, and simple cocktails. Complimentary red and white wine (one bottle each per table) will be provided as well as a glass of champagne. The bar also serves free pop, juice and water (these items are self-serve and will not be brought to the table).
Due to venue restrictions and location in the forest, smoking is NOT permitted anywhere except the parking lot. Anyone who is caught smoking in non designated areas will be removed from the property immediately and fines will be issued.
Yes! Dancing will likely start around 9:00pm until late. The DJ will not be taking requests (there is no internet), so please provide the bride/groom with song suggestions prior to the event. We will also be renting PK Sound. ;)
During the ceremony, we ask that guests refrain from taking and photos or videos, as we will leave that to the photographer. However, taking photos and videos during the reception is strongly encouraged and we will have a QR Code/Link to a Google Drive so everyone can share their memories.
Unfortunately, because this event is in a secluded part of the woods there will not be WiFi.
Unfortunately, due to venue limitations this event is invite only. Only significant others and spouses can be accommodated with approval of the bride and groom. The guest list is now finalized and there will be no new additions.
