How We Met

“Have you met my friend, Meg?”

Coworkers kept asking, “have you met my friend, Meg?” It’s a strange feeling to know there’s someone out there, someone you’ve never met, someone who could change your life. Months passed and I had almost forgotten about the mysterious Meg, until the day I heard she was coming back to work at the HDC. From first handshake to picking out the “right shirt” on days I knew I’d see her, I couldn’t help but feel like this could go somewhere. Finally we got together for a walk in the wood. She might have been the one tripping on every root and rock, but I was the one falling for her.

How He Proposed

“Is he proposing or going to murder me?”

As many people know, both Brad and I are runners. Last February, we were going to go bowling with his family & prior to picking me up, Brad had texted me to, “Bring a warm coat & a pair of boots.” I asked why & he said, “There is a trail I wanted to check and see if it is good to run.” I immediately texted two of my close friends saying, “Is he proposing or going to murder me?" Throughout the night, the plans continued to change a bit, so I was convinced it wasn’t happening. We got in the car, dropped Eli off & headed to the trail. It was dark, so I was a little confused why we were going to look at a trail, but I went along with it. We were wandering around a bit, walking from one end of the park to the other, and I could tell Brad was on a mission, but I wasn’t sure what he was looking for. Eventually, we stopped & listened to the sounds of the night. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. **Disclaimer, sweet Bradley would let me wear his jacket outside when I had to take the dog out at night & for TWO months, I could feel the ring box in his pocket, so I was impatiently waiting for him to ask.
