Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Visitors should plan to visit the 19-acre historic park early enough to complete their outdoor tour by 4 p.m. The indoor galleries close at 5 p.m. It takes 45 to 90 minutes to see the 53 ranch structures in the historic park and walk the 1.5 mile pathway. The outdoor park is both wheelchair and stroller accessible. Admission is free.
Prairie Dog Town is located inside Mackenzie Park off of 4th Street and Interstate 27 overlooking Meadowbrook Golf Course. It's free and open to the public from dawn to dusk year round. This stop is very special to Chandler and Christine because is was one their first dates the first time Christine flew to Texas visiting Chandler.
The Buddy Holly Center, a historical site, has dual missions; preserving, collecting and promoting the legacy of Buddy Holly and the music of Lubbock and West Texas, as well as providing exhibits on Contemporary Visual Arts and Music, for the purpose of educating and entertaining the public.
