As long as the weather is good, the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors. There is a bit of a walk through gravel from the parking lot, and the ceremony lawn is grass, so be mindful of your shoe choices. Also keep in mind that we are a mile closer to the sun here, so you may want to bring sunglasses and sunscreen.
July is typically very beautiful and warm in Colorado! We'd expect the high on our wedding day to be in the 80s, dropping to 60 or the 50s once the sun goes down. In Colorado a good rule of thumb is to be prepared for anything and dress in light layers, knowing that sun and wind can make a drastic difference! Our ceremony will be outdoors and the rest of the day will be indoors.
As much as we love your little ones, we are not able to include them in the ceremony or reception. We hope you can enjoy a parents' night out to celebrate with us!
Boulder is the nearest town to our venue in Lyons. It's also where Brach lived for 6 years during grad school, so check the "Things to Do" tab for his recommendations! We have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn in Boulder (4777 Broadway). You can book at a discounted rate by mentioning the Draeger-Champion wedding or using this link: https://www.choicehotels.com/reservations/groups/RS17Z4
We are registered at Target and Crate & Barrel, and we also have a cash fund to help us pay for our honeymoon! You can find info about each of the options in the "registry" tab on the website.
We are providing shuttles for everyone from Boulder to the venue. Shuttles will depart from 4777 Broadway in Boulder at 4:00pm on Saturday. At the end of the night, some shuttles will return to the pickup location and others will continue on to the after party at Rosetta Hall! Alternatively, if you prefer to drive and don't plan to drink, there is plenty of parking available. Uber & Lyft are not recommended. The venue is somewhat remote and you may end up waiting well over 30 minutes for a ride. If you don't want to drive, please take advantage of the shuttle!
Maybe! Everyone has a different level of sensitivity to the altitude. Boulder sits and 5,318' and our venue is at 5,755'. They say that 1 drink at altitude = 2 drinks at sea level. We are also one mile closer to the sun, so sunscreen is a good idea for the ceremony! Check out the link below for tips on how to prevent altitude sickness. https://www.denver.org/about-denver/resources/high-altitude-tips/
We will be hanging out in North Boulder Park on Friday night (July 26) from 6-8pm. If you are already in town, we would love to spend time with you there! The park has great views of the mountains, and we will play some games, have some drinks and snacks, and catch up with everyone before the big day! Attire is casual-come as you are! While we cannot accommodate children at the ceremony or reception on July 27, they are welcome to join us for Friday's welcome event.
