We met through mutual friends who set us up one night in 2021! We spent the night playing giant jenga and refusing to be the one who knocked the tower over! All it took was one swift hair flip and a compliment from Elizabeth, and Mike was hooked! We still have a running joke to this day, that I liked his haircut and he liked mine.
Mike had purchased the ring and had to show his boys first! All 3 of them kept it a secret from Elizabeth for months! And the boys were excited to learn their dad was going to pop the question, even though they had been waiting for it since we began dating. Finally, on December 30th 2023, Mike told Elizabeth they were going to take the dogs on a hike at Mount Bonnell. With Rocko and Pinky on their leash, they headed to a scenic spot. Mike waiting for the perfect moment alone with Elizabeth on the ledge and got down on one knee. With the selfie camera set on the timer, Mike pulled the ring from his pocket and Elizabeth was completely surprised! It was like a Hallmark Christmas movie! Strangers nearby stopped to cheer of us and our doggos felt the excitement! She said YES!
Most days are busy for us! Elizabeth has moved in with Mike and the boys in August and will continue to commute to her job she loves at Hays CISD. Mike and the boys are getting used to having her in their man-cave! During football season, Mike and Elizabeth are busy taking Anthony to and from practices and game days on Fridays. Chuy is learning how to drive, and will soon be driving himself to and from school and work! Chuy is working at Bill Miller BBQ and working on submitting college applications! Mike starts his days later than Elizabeth, and will spend his work day out checking properties or in the office. Life is busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way together.
