How we Connected

We knew each other through mutual friends for a while but never connected or communicated. Our first actual contact happened when I was out in Green Bay for a Five Finger Death Punch concert. I was posting photos of being there and Tommy reached out and asked how the concert is and saying he wanted to go to this one. From that point on, we talked to each other almost daily and would see each other here and there when we crossed paths. Busy season was coming up and we both had a lot going on. After the holidays were over, we saw each other A LOT more and it didn't take long for Tommy to ask me out. Funnily enough, he started by asking if he could ask me a question and I told him no! Thank goodness he asked again!

The Proposal

6.3.2021

Door County is one of our favorite places. We love to go relax by the water and enjoy the sights. We decided this time would be the first time to take the ferry to Washington Island and explore something new as neither of us have been. We were driving around to explore each sight and planned to drive around the island before heading back. We ended up driving past a small parking area that looked like it was private property, only to see a sign posted saying it's public. We parked and got out and found the last 'Witness Tree' in Door County. I loved reading about it and little did I know just how special that stop would become. We walked down a path to the water, and found a beach with stones as smooth as Schoolhouse beach, just occupied by us. We went walking down the rocks, taking photos along the way before I asked to go back to the car because it was quite windy and cold; but first, Tommy wanted to tell me a funny story. Of course I did, and he started by telling me the first time we came to Door County, he imagined it being the perfect place to propose one day. And he did JUST THAT! In our own little bubble, at one of our favorite places, I said YES to our forever. Of course, later that evening, he described to me that he was on plan "H-3" after so many chances he didn't take until then... but I couldn't have imagined a better way.

For all the days along the way
