During brunch, a mutual friend recommended that she'd give April's information to Marcus. April expressed to her NOT to do that. Thankfully she was hard-headed. After receiving April's number it took Marcus nearly two weeks to text her. Within a few days of that first text message, they were on a first date, eating chicken wings and cheese fries. They have been inseparable since. To this day, their favorite food to try in any city is lemon pepper and garlic parmesan chicken wings and cheese fries.

As the clock struck midnight and the ball dropped, we toasted to a Happy New Year! April leaned in to give Marcus a kiss, then turned around, giving Jalea a hug and kiss. As April turned to Marcus again, he was partially on one knee. That's where our adventure to forever began.

April and Marcus' original wedding date was 01.01.2022. Due to COVID, three days prior to their ceremony, they had to cancel. The two proceeded to get married in their living room. Their children were masked up, standing 6 feet away. Their parents were on Zoom with an officiant. Right in the middle of their living room, they said I do.
