The wedding and reception will be on various terrains, including farm fields and gravel. We suggest comfortable clothing and shoes (definitely don't recommend heels!). Early October in Kentucky is generally warm but not hot and there usually isn't a lot of rain, but check that forecast and plan for the weather! The reception will be inside of an old tobacco barn, and the ceremony will also take place there if there is inclement weather.
We are kinda out here, y'all. We invite anyone and everyone to camp with us the night of our wedding! Otherwise, there are numerous AirBNB and VRBO options in Henry County (where we live) and Shelby and Oldham counties (which are a short 20-30 minute drive from the farm). There are also a number of standard chain hotels in LaGrange (Oldham County) and Shelbyville (Shelby County).
We will have folks helping you park on the farm. There will be a short walk from the parking area to the ceremony, so if you need to be able to park close to minimize walking, please let us know in advance or let the folks helping with parking know so that we can accommodate that.
GPS is very reliable to get you *most* of the way to the farm. It will take you as far as the beginning of our driveway, where it turns from pavement to gravel. Keep driving down the gravel road for about a mile. The gravel road will dead end at our farm - you will see a blue sign with our Boxcar Acres logo, a couple of greenhouses, a barn, and a small white house with a green roof. We will have balloons indicating you've arrived! There will be folks to help you park when you arrive.
