Travel Note
Trailways buses from Port Authority in New York City stop 5 miles down the road in Big Indian from Full Moon. The bus leaves NYC from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It’s the Pine Hill Route that goes through Kingston and stops at Big Indian. In my most recent check (February), tickets are about $45 and the ride ranges from 3 1/2 hrs to 4hrs, with multiple departure times. You can double-check times/schedules with Trailways by using the link here. There is no bus terminal in Big Indian—the bus drops you off outside of the Big Indian Post Office (8279 State Route 28, Big Indian, NY 12410). Additionally, there is no service at the bus stop and no taxi service. Please let us know if you plan to go this route so we can make sure there's someone to get you at the stop! Information for this stop can sometimes be tricky to find on their website, so we suggest calling them (800.776.7548) or purchasing a ticket from busbud.com if you're having trouble.
