What should women wear?

Answer

For women, wear a dress, jumpsuit, or pants suit. Bring a nice jacket or shawl if it is cold. Wear comfortable shoes for walking to the ceremony. Flats will be best, but a low wedge or chunky heel will also work if you are feeling adventurous. If you love heels, consider changing into them for the reception only.

What should men wear?

Answer

For men, wear a suit jacket (tie optional), a collared shirt, and dress pants or khakis. Wear comfortable shoes for walking to the ceremony, preferably no sneakers.

Are you really getting married outside in November?

Answer

Yes! If it is cool, we recommend a nice jacket or shawl for warmth.

What if it rains?

Answer

Bring an umbrella! In the event of heavy rain, we'll move the celebration indoors to the Garden Hall.

Question

Should we bring anything like rice or birdseed to throw?

Answer

No. Maymont does not permit anything to be thrown, and the park should be left in the same condition as before the event.

Question

I am traveling from out of town, how will I get around?

Answer

We will provide transportation from the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Airport to Maymont, from Maymont to Angelo's Restaurant, and from Angelo's Restaurant back to the Hilton Garden Inn.
