Alex and I first met in the Spring of 2014 at Billigans resturant in Vancouver, WA. At this time I had just broken my leg from a motorcycle crash, was on crutches, and was taking a quarter off from nursing school. I became instant great friends with one of Alex’s childhood friends, Kayla, during my first quarter of nursing school. After my accident, Kayla invited me to get out of the house and meet her closest friends. This is where, unbeknownst to me at the time, I met the love of my life. It wasn’t until December of 2014 that Alex and I were reacquainted on an annual New Years Eve trip at his family friends property. Shortly after this trip, Alex asked me out on our first date and the rest is history!
Alex and I’s engagement was simple and perfect. He proposed to me with his Grandmothers engagement ring at home in front of our christmas tree. Alex and I spent the day doing last minute christmas shopping and I was just finishing wrapping gifts when Alex called and said he would pick up dinner. Once Alex arrived home he said he had an early christmas gift for me and I needed to sit in front of the tree with Bear, our puppy, and close my eyes. He walked outside and came back in seconds later. I thought he brought home another puppy! When he asked me to open my eyes, he was on one knee with the ring box open. I cried, of course, and I said yes!
