We actually met online believe it or not. I (Ashley) had gotten on the dating app after months of not being on. When I went on, there was this guy (Cody) who had liked, winked, messaged and did everything to get my attention but I wasn’t on the app at the time. So about a month later (after he had messaged me), when I actually went on the app I messaged him back. Our conversation took off and he was going to the same church just in a different location. The first time meeting in person was at a Bible Study I was going too. The moment he came around these bushes from the parking lot, I knew he was the one. 😍😍
My parents were getting ready to leave back to Colorado because my grandpa is/was sick. So they actually had to leave earlier than expected. Cody was going to ask for my dad’s blessing while they were fishing one weekend but it seemed to always be cancelled. It was the last weekend that my parents were here, and my parents were meeting his parents. So I really didn’t think anything was going to happen. Cody and my dad went outside so Cody could “show him the yard” since we were at Cody’s. That is when Cody asked for my dad’s blessing. I still didn’t think anything about it. Then we hung out for a bit, ate dinner did dessert. Then we were all going to carve pumpkins, since it is one of my favorite things to do. We were going to have a pumpkin carving contest with all of his siblings. I was sitting across from him so I couldn’t see what he was carving. He was finished and I was still working away, he waited patiently, held the flashlight and waited till I was done. He even waited for me to light mine. Then I asked him what he carved and he turned his pumpkin around and it said “Ashley Fischer will you marry me.” He got down on one knee and without hesitation I said, “Yes.”
