Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is Formal with a Black Tie Optional option. For the men, we suggest wearing a formal suit and a tuxedo is welcomed. This could be a classic black, navy, or dark gray suit paired with a dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes. If you prefer, you can also opt for a tuxedo, complete with a bowtie, formal shirt, and polished dress shoes. For the women, you have the opportunity to wear a formal gown or a sophisticated below-the-knee or floor length cocktail dress. This is your chance to dress up and add some glamorous touches to your outfit, such as statement jewelry, a stylish updo, and elegant heels. We want you to feel your best while celebrating with us, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification. We can't wait to see all of you dressed to impress on our wedding day!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We are excited to have you part of our special day. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 2 PM. Doors will open for guests at 1:30 PM. Our guestbook will be available for guests to sign prior and following the ceremony.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We kindly request that our wedding ceremony and reception be an adults-only affair. While we adore children, we have made the decision to create an intimate and adult atmosphere for our special day. We hope you understand and appreciate this choice. Thank you for respecting our wishes, and we look forward to celebrating with you.

Question

Is the wedding reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Following an indoor ceremony at Mariner’s Chapel, guests will make their way to the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort. Perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff, from the valet parking area it is a beautiful stroll to the outdoor Botanical Gardens and neighboring lawn located on the lower level part of the resort. For guests comfort please note the ground cover in the Botanical Gardens is a mix of stone and grass. The Botanical Lawn's ground is hardened artificial turf. See the weather forecast below.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony using my cell phone?

Answer

We kindly request that you refrain from capturing photos during our ceremony. We believe that an "unplugged" ceremony creates a more intimate and authentic atmosphere. It allows our loved ones to truly witness and experience the exchange of vows and the emotions that unfold during this sacred union. We want you to enjoy the moment with us, rather than through a screen or lens. Additionally, we have hired professional photographers to capture all the special moments throughout our wedding day.

Question

How do you recommend we get to and from the two venues?

Answer

The Mariner's Chapel in Irvine can be reached either off the I5 Fwy & Culver Drive or 73 Fwy (toll road) & Bonita Canyon Drive. To get to the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort, the location of the reception, head towards PCH and enjoy the drive! Plan for about a 30-40 minute drive between venues. Valet parking at the Waldorf is hosted for our guests during our reception.

Question

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

Parking at Mariners Chapel, the wedding ceremony location, is free and located near the base of the chapel. Parking at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort, the wedding reception location, will be hosted by the Bowers family during the reception time only. If traveling by a ride-share service, you can also be dropped off at this location. For those visiting the resort outside of the wedding reception time, the valet parking rates can be found on their website. Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

September and October mark the fall season in California, as temperatures begin to drop to comfortable, warm daytime temperatures of 70-80° degrees in most areas. Evening and morning temperatures will become cooler. These are two of the best months to visit California. World-weather.info is a great resource for weather forecasts as the wedding date nears.
