Skiing?
Get Insurance - Insurance is 12 Euros per day and 100% recommended. Ski patrol/rescues are not free in Europe. You can buy insurance anywhere you buy or redeem tickets If you have an Ikon Pass, you can get non-consecutive 5- or 7-day passes at any lift station. You show your IKON pass and the station will provide an RFID card for you. Days shared between Grands Montets, Les Houches, Le Tour/Balme, La Flegere, and Le Brevent.

Where to stay
If you know you'll be joining us in Chamonix, book your Airbnb or Hotel ASAP. Alpina Hotel is our recommended hotel as it's located right in town. Additional recommendations are listed below. Great options are available with hotels or Airbnb depending on what you prefer. We recommend finding something towards the center of town to take advantage of shops, restaurants/cafes, and all that Chamonix has to offer! Additional hotels by budget: Big-budget hotels would be Hotel Mont Blanc and Albert 1er, medium budget would be Alpina, Mercure Centre, Park Hotel Suisse, and budget-friendly hotels would be Pointe Isabelle, Les Cosmiques, and La Croix Blanche.

For those who like a little more freedom, you can easily rent a car from the airport on both the International/Swiss side and the French Sector of the Geneva Airport. Long-weekend trip from the U.S.
If you're looking to come in for a long weekend around the wedding, we recommend arriving in Geneva no later than Thursday (leaving the U.S. Wednesday evening). This will give you ample time to recharge from jet lag before the festivities commence on Friday!
