Things To Do

Monserate Winery

2757 Gird Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028

Did you know you're in Temecula Wine Country? During our wedding venue search, we visited Monserate Winery and thought it would be a lovely spot for guests to enjoy while in Fallbrook. With its Tuscan-inspired architecture and surrounding vineyards, it's a peaceful place to sip local wines and take in the scenery—perfect for a relaxed afternoon before or after the festivities.

Balboa Park

San Diego, CA

Often called the cultural heart of San Diego, Balboa Park is a must-see destination full of gardens, museums, and Spanish-style architecture. You can spend hours wandering the lush trails, visiting world-class museums, or simply relaxing by the fountains. It’s also home to the San Diego Zoo!

San Diego Zoo

Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo is home to a wide range of animals from around the world. It’s a good option if you have extra time and want to spend a few hours walking through exhibits set in a lush, park-like setting. Great for families or anyone who enjoys animals and nature.

Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum

Tucked inside Balboa Park, the Japanese Friendship Garden is a serene spot filled with koi ponds, stone paths, and seasonal blooms. It’s a peaceful place to slow down and take in the beauty of traditional Japanese landscaping.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

If you’re up for an adventure, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park offers expansive wildlife exhibits and open-air safaris that bring you closer to animals in naturalistic settings. It’s a fantastic way to spend the day—but fair warning: you’ll do a lot of walking! Comfortable shoes are a must for this immersive experience. It's Tiffany and Aaron's favorite zoo!

LEGOLAND California

One Legoland Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008

Located about 40 minutes north of Fallbrook, LEGOLAND California is a theme park designed especially for families with kids. It features LEGO-themed rides, interactive exhibits, and a water park, making it a fun day trip if you’re traveling with little ones or just love a bit of playful adventure.

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove is a must-visit coastal gem, known for its dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and the sea lions sunbathing nearby. Stroll along the oceanfront paths, explore the tide pools, kayak in the caves, or walk along the coast! It’s one of San Diego’s most picturesque spots.

Old Town San Diego

2829 Juan Street, San Diego, CA 92110

Step back in time at Old Town, the historic birthplace of California. You’ll find colorful streets lined with adobe buildings, Mexican restaurants, artisan shops, and live mariachi music. It’s touristy, but also festive, fun, and full of personality. Be sure to grab a margarita and some fresh handmade tortillas while you're there!

Little Italy

San Diego, CA 92101

Charming and vibrant, Little Italy is a walkable neighborhood packed with outdoor patios, gelato shops, and some of the city’s best restaurants. Browse the boutiques, sip an Aperol spritz, and soak in the European vibe. It is especially lively on Saturday mornings (until 2PM) when the farmers’ market is in full swing.

The Shout! House

655 Fourth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101

Downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter is the place to go for nightlife and city vibes. With rooftop bars, speakeasies, and restaurants lining the streets, it comes alive after dark. Don’t miss Shout! House, a lively dueling piano bar where talented musicians take requests and the crowd sings along. Expect to sing along, laugh, and cheer on the lively performances!

Tacos El Gordo

556 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910

If you're looking for Baja-style Mexican food, El Gordo Tacos in Chula Vista is our favorite go-to. Known for its fresh, bold flavors and perfectly seasoned meats like carne asada and adobada, it’s the kind of place where every taco feels authentic and satisfying. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a late-night snack, it’s a must-try for anyone wanting to experience San Diego’s vibrant taco scene. If Chula Vista is just too far for you, Tacos El Gordo has a smaller location in downtown San Diego!
