Yes - our wedding will be a full Catholic wedding Mass. A Catholic wedding Mass is longer than some wedding ceremonies because it consists not only of the vows, but also the entirety of the Mass. Because of how important the Eucharist is to Catholics, it is reserved for those who fully believe, uphold, and love the truth that it is the Body and Blood of Jesus. Thus, practicing Catholics in a state of grace may receive the Eucharist during our wedding Mass. We ask that our non-Catholic and non-practicing friends come forward to receive a blessing from our priest if they desire or stay in their seats and pray for us and our marriage.
Please ensure that you RSVP by May 1, 2025. If we do not have your RSVP by this date, we will reach out to confirm that you will not be attending our wedding.
We have decided to have adults and young adults only at our wedding. We hope that you will still be able to join us for this special day and look forward to celebrating with you.
We can only accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you have received a plus one, it will appear on your invite and be on your RSVP on our website. Please do not bring someone to the wedding if they were not already included in your invitation.
CEREMONY: Parking is available at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in the yard behind the church, where there is a handicapped ramp leading to church. There is also parking on the street surrounding church and in the bank parking lot across the street during non-banking hours, but please do not park in the ATM line. RECEPTION: There is parking at the reception at Crystal Events located in the gravel lot in front of the venue and lot located across the street from the venue. Please ensure that you are enjoying the reception responsibly and make arrangements for Uber/Lyft pickups if you have been drinking.
We have put together a playlist of some of our favorites songs, and we hope you enjoy the songs we have picked out by dancing with us all night long. We want to ensure that everyone has a great time, but we understand that some guests may not feel comfortable with the music selection as the dance floor will take on an adult atmosphere. Feel free to stay and party, or head out whenever you're ready!
The reception is located near a number of hotels that are available for you to make a reservation at. We would recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New Orleans Airport or the Clarion Hotel New Orleans - Airport & Conference Center.
There will be a variety of food offerings at the reception, with a lot of New Orleans dishes and treats. Please note that there are a handful of items on the menu that contain seafood, but there are plenty of options that do not contain it if you cannot eat seafood.
The wedding is semi-formal, so we encourage you to wear cocktail attire. Please no blue jeans. For the reception, we would love if everyone wears their favorite sneaker!
The money dance is a cultural tradition at many wedding receptions in where guests offer the newlyweds money to dance with them. In Louisiana, a Cajun wedding typically includes the money dance. Traditionally, guests will pin money on the bride’s veil to dance with her or pin on the groom's suit to dance with him.
