During my junior year at Central Michigan University, I moved into an off-campus apartment, not knowing I moved in next to my best friend for life/future husband. As fate worked in wondrous ways, my senior year at CMU led me to Skylar. Our story started one night when my roommates and I needed to borrow a grill to cook steaks. If you know Skylar, you know he can cook a mean steak. After that night, we continued to hang out as a group and little by little, Skylar and I became closer and started hanging out on our own. During a group spring break trip to Mexico, Skylar asked me to be his girlfriend one night on the beach…I said no. Spoiler alert, a few days later after I made him take me on an official date, I then said yes! Only a few months into our relationship, we traveled to Germany and learned we can definitely spend more than a week straight together! As our careers started after college, our path led us to Washington D.C. We moved in together and had an amazing year-long city adventure. We then moved back to Rochester Hills, Michigan to be closer to family, where we still live today. We grew more and more in love, and for 6 years now have been each other’s best friend, support system, and favorite person. We continue to make each other laugh everyday, and enjoy frequent date nights both out to eat and cooking at home. In August of 2024, on a family trip to Charleston, SC, Skylar plotted with my family to surprise me and got down on one knee asking if I would spend the rest of my life with him - it was the easiest yes! We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you on July 12, 2025. Get ready to dance the night away, enjoy some great food and drinks, and explore beautiful Northern Michigan.
