The short answer?    We met through our mutual friends, Mariah Godbold and Brinson Laliberte. :)  The long answer?  Lauren was best friends with Mariah, and William was roommates with Brinson at the Citadel.  While Brinson was in pursuit of Mariah, Lauren and William frequently saw each other on Snapchats back and forth between Mariah and Brinson. Lauren vividly remembers seeing William's bright blue eyes for the first time and swooning over Brinson's handsome roommate. While Lauren was still a senior in high school, she told her mom that she was going to Charleston for the weekend to meet up with a Junior cadet at the Citadel.  Her mom said NOPE! (In her defense, she did not know William at the time and how respectful he would have been). Lauren was determined to meet this Charleston boy before leaving for college at the University of Florida. While visiting Charleston the weekend before leaving for college, Lauren convinced her group of friends to get lunch with William and his friend, Brett Huffer.  Lauren and her friends were impressed with how handsome and kind the two Citadel boys were, but Lauren was certain that nothing would come out of this fling as she was off to Gainesville the following week. Over the years, William always kept up with Lauren, never missing an opportunity to reach out for a birthday or holiday text.  Flash forward to the UF/USC football game on November 10, 2018 in The Swamp.  William encouraged his buddies, Brett Huffer, Landon White, and Charlie Ehmann to come to Gainesville and watch the Gamecocks take on the Gators (although William had other motives). After all, it wasn’t very difficult to convince a group of single boys to hang out with the Florida Gators cheerleading team.  After a comeback win for the Gators, Lauren had a few too many drinks that night and thought for sure William would never talk to her again.   To her surprise, William wanted to continue pursuing Lauren.  Later that same year, Lauren took the train from Jacksonville to Charleston for a New Years Eve party at the South Carolina Aquarium as William’s date. She met all of William's friends that night and realized how much she loved being in William's presence and fit in so naturally with him and his friends. The two dated long distance for a year before Lauren graduated from UF. Knowing she wanted to be in the same city as William, Lauren applied to and was accepted to Physician Assistant school at MUSC in Charleston. The two have been inseparable since the moment they realized they were each other's match made in Heaven.  They are now settled down in the town they call home, Mount Pleasant, with their crazy puppy and love of their life, Goose.
