The welcome event at The Truffle Pig is in walking distance from The Steamboat Grand, Gravity Haus, and most AirBnB/VRBO rentals that are located near the base of the resort. If you are not staying near the resort/base of the mountain and need to drive, there is a paid parking garage in walking distance to the Truffle Pig. You can also utilize the free bus system which picks up throughout town and drops off near the base (please see the Steamboat Bus Schedule below). Reach out to Aaron or Katie with any questions!
Shuttles will be provided to and from La Joya Dulce. We will post exact times and pick up locations closer to the date. Please note the venue does not permit guests to drive and park there, guests must utilize the shuttles to get to and from the venue. *Ubers and Lyfts are not reliable in Steamboat, do not count on using them for rides.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children at our wedding. Please reach out to Katie (317-440-7181) or Aaron (720-234-9178) if you need local babysitting service recommendations.
We recommend getting a rental car, especially if you'll have time to explore Steamboat outside of the wedding festivities! See 'Things to Do' for recommendations on what to do while you're in town. If you do not wish to get a rental car, you can still get around town by using the free bus system. You will need to arrange for a private or shared shuttle service to pick you up from either airport and take you to your hotel (see 'Travel' section for list of shuttle companies). Book your rental cars and shuttle services as early as possible, Yampa Valley/HDN is a smaller airport with less inventory.
Steamboat Springs is at a higher altitude of approximately 6,900 feet. While altitude sickness here is less common than in other ski towns, it's still important to acclimate gradually. Don't forget to put on sunscreen either! Proper hydration is key at high altitudes to combat dehydration and prevent altitude sickness. Increase your water consumption the week prior to your journey to help your body acclimate to the elevation in Steamboat. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. Bring a refillable water bottle and make it a habit to drink water regularly during your stay. Alcohol can also exacerbate altitude sickness symptoms - please be aware of your consumption. Consider individual sensitivity and get professional medical advice for a smooth trip. Reach out to Katie and Aaron with any questions.
