Our love story started at a Halloween party in Washington, D.C. on October 22, 2022. It was a night full of costumes, laughs, and a bit of fate. Kiana was dressed as Jennifer Garner from 13 Going on 30, and Jared was rocking the mustache as Maverick from Top Gun. When Jared noticed Kiana across the room, a friend dared him to make the first move — and he did, despite his opening line falling flat. But lucky for him, the conversation didn’t stop there! We quickly discovered that we lived in the same neighborhood in Alexandria, and after chatting all night, we were inseparable from then on. The next day, we hung out watching football, and from that point on, we were hooked. In 2024, we made a big move to Raleigh, NC, where Kiana started a new job and we got our sweet dog, Marley. Since then, we've celebrated promotions, traveled through Italy, Greece, and Croatia, and even bought our first home in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Our engagement came in August 2025, and now, we’re thrilled to be planning our wedding on October 22, 2027 — five years to the day from the night we met.
