Our love story began in a place we never expected—online. In October of 2023, Joel Booth and Annie Anderson matched on the Christian dating site Upward. Though we lived 100 miles apart, with Annie working a steady 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday schedule and Joel working the late shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with varying days off, we found a way to make it work. Our "dates" were often lunchtime chats during breaks and the occasional meet-up when our schedules miraculously aligned. Despite the challenges of distance and conflicting work hours, we quickly realized there was something special between us, and we started dating shortly after we met. By the time February 2024 rolled around, Joel asked Annie to join him on the East side of the state. Annie packed up, moved in with friends, found a new job closer to Joel, and put her home on the market. And just like that, what had once been a long-distance relationship became a new adventure on the same side of the state, only a few miles apart. In September of 2024, Joel took the next big step and proposed in Farmington Hills. Of course, Annie said yes! We quickly picked a date for our wedding: May 24, 2025, and have been excitedly planning ever since. Joel and Annie love spending time together—whether it’s watching our favorite shows, playing games, or simply being around the people we love. Our relationship has been a beautiful blend of patience, laughter, and growth, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next.
