Our story began in June 2021 with an accidental swipe left on Bumble. Jenn, realizing she had just missed out on matching with the cute boy she'd been seeing around town, spent $10.99 to upgrade to "Bumble Premium" in order to utilize the "reverse" feature and match with Mike. She didn't realize what a great return on investment the $10.99 would ultimately be. Their first date was one week later, where Mike picked Jenn up and their very first in-person conversation was about how upset he was about the excessive amount of bird droppings on his new car. He then beat Jenn in mini-golf (the only time he's done so in the 3 times they've mini-golfed since) and they got lunch at what would become one of their favorite restaurants. On the way home, Mike struggled to multi-task and maintain conversation, connect to Bluetooth and utilize GPS to drive her home. Jenn, interpreting Mike's befuddlement as disinterest, thought the date went poorly. To her surprise, Mike reached out the next day and suggested planning a second date and the rest is history. After their first date (well, second date), they became inseparable. They began dating later that summer, and moved into their first home together in Spring of 2022, where they've enjoyed collecting way too many candles, over-decorating for Christmas, ordering cheap Italian takeout, and building a life together. On December 8th, 2023 Jenn turned 30 years old, and was sadly mourning the loss of her 20s. Unaware that Mike had been planning a big night for them for the past week, she was moody, tired, and hungry as they walked around Peddler's Village. Later that night, after initially refusing to take a picture at the centerpiece Christmas tree in the gazebo, she begrudgingly agreed to "one picture - we have to make it quick!" It was then that Mike got down on one knee and asked Jenn a question he knew she'd say yes to, marking the official beginning of their life together. Our story is silly, full of love and laughter, and we can't wait to laugh and reminisce on this first chapter of our love story with all of you in April.
