Travel & Where to Stay

The Wedding Website of Victoria Sperling and Robertson Beasley
Greenport is a harbor town on the east end of Long Island. It is beautiful and out of the way, just how its residents like it. Because it is a small town, it has limited parking. Please keep this in mind when booking your travel. For those of you flying to the area, we recommend flying into Islip airport or JFK airport if you plan to take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) or Hampton Jitney to Greenport. Newark, NJ, isn't a bad option either. Despite being farther away, it has a direct connection to LIRR at Penn Station via NJ Transit, and it often has some really cheap flights. We do not recommend flying into LaGuardia if you plan on taking the LIRR to Greenport as it does not have direct access to the train. There is a Hampton Jitney pickup location in Queens a short cab ride away from LGA.

Train

Hampton Jitney

It's not a train! It's a bus. The Hampton Jitney is the fastest and cheapest way to get to Greenport. There are multiple pickup locations in Manhattan, plus a JFK/LGA airport pickup location in Queens, and an Islip pickup location near Ronkonkoma station. Buses leave several times a day.

Train

Long Island Rail Road

The LIRR takes a bit longer and is slightly more expensive than the Jitney, but in our opinion is the more pleasant way to get to Greenport from the NYC area. Trains run about four times a day; sometimes additional trains are added in the summer months. The full Rononkoma branch schedule can be found here. Please do not hesitate to email robertson.beasley@gmail.com with any questions.
