How We Met

HIS SIDE Hey everyone! Im gonna keep my side very short because I just know there’s a whole book coming from her side lol Just FYI I know she’s gonna mention something about me “flirting” but trust me, I was just trying to be a good friend ;) But what can I say, I got one amazing woman! Everything in my life has always turned into a blessing and having found Jenny has only added to that testament. Even though I was hesitant to move to Houston, I look back and realize that it was God putting all the pieces together. Jenny, I’m excited to share all of lives blessings with you! Thank you to everyone in advance for celebrating our special day with us! HER SIDE I already know Bonny's not gonna give you the whole story, cause we all know he's a man of few words. So, let me tell you. Bonny and I have known each other since both of us are part of different youth ministries. We have attended each other’s retreats, but nothing ever crossed our minds then. My cousin Reshma from UK called me one day and told me about Bonny from Christ Culture currently living in Detroit. My initial thought was “ehh, he’s from Detroit and there’s no chance we’ll see each other for us to meet.” So, I brushed that off and moved on with my life. It was during one of our mutual cousins, Sherry chechy’s engagement party in Houston that I first saw him. As I was walking back to my table after getting a soda, I thought I'd just say hi because I would've walked right past him anyway. When I think of that today, I can’t believe I got myself to even go up to him (not really of me, but I’m sure Bonny is grateful I did Lolol). The first thing I said was, “Hey, you’re Bonny right..from Christ Culture?” And he replies, “yeahh?… you’re Jenny from Anointing Fire?” Then we casually talked about what we do, where we’re from and all that jazz. I went back to my seat and I was thinking. Thinking hard. The next evening, I brought it up to Amma and Jeffy and told them about this guy and that he’s moved to Houston from Detroit for work. Amma said, “amm, nammukku nokkam” (Yeah, we’ll see). Bonny claims he wasn’t flirting but he would DM me here and there asking me random questions. We would invite each to different retreats or other events happening at the Houston Church (very on brand of us). This went on for about 10 months and the whole time I was thinking to myself he’s definitely a potential and he’s definitely trying to get my attention (which Bonny denies till date!). Then comes the time of our other mutual cousin Jason chetta’s engagement where I ran into Bonny’s dad, brother and Bonny. As Bonny and I were talking, his dad grabs the both of us and asks us to take a picture. I posted the pic below for reference hahaha! It was that night I started to catch feelings for Bonny. During our family dance, I saw him recording our dance so I thought he was recording me, so I remember dancing extra cautiously that I won’t mess up LOL! Fast forward, we started texting more frequently and consistently. He asked me out on a date a month later at one of our local starbbies where I had him try the pink drink for the first time. We took our “official” first picture together and rest is history! I've shared various testimonies where I have experienced divine interventions and meeting Bonny has definitely been one of them. There were certain things I had prayed fervently from the bottom of my heart and it was a prayer kept between God and I. The fact that God fulfilled every one of those prayers, is a miracle of itself! I am humbled and will forever be grateful for Bonny and for the God-fearing man he is! If there is one thing I’ve learned through this is that God will give us what our hearts desire, but we just have to wait on His perfect timing! p.s- i know we have a lot of mutual cousins, but I promise we're not related hahaha!
