We think this is one of the most beautiful places to visit in DC. Definitely worth a visit if you have not been!
National Archives Museum

We felt like this was solemn ground after visiting (but maybe that's just because we are nerds). A very cool experience to see these documents in person.
Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens

A hidden gem. Gorgeous gardens and a seriously impressive mansion. Former home of the Post Heirress....she had style!
The People’s House: A White House Experience
1700 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20006
Another very cool and less well-known stop. This museum is interactive and gives a peek inside the White House over the years.
Puttery

If you want a break from the heat but aren't into the rest of the historic and nerdy stuff on this list, this indoor mini golf and bar is a great stop. We went here for Bonnie's birthday and she showed Jess how the real ones golf.
