A mutual friend of theirs (hey Angie!) wanted Rachel to go to her high school’s winter formal dance. Since Rachel didn’t attend that school, she would have to have a date to be able to attend the dance. Rachel’s friend said she would find someone to take her..... and here enters Eddie. Eddie was volunteered to sign for Rachel to come to the dance - willingly or forced, we still aren’t sure. They met the weekend before the dance, Eddie seemed cool (and Rachel thought he was cute), and everything was set up for the following weekend. Rachel’s optimism that maybe Eddie would take her on a date after this dance was shot down that night when he ditched her on the dance floor. But fast forward 8 years later when Eddie messages Rachel on social media, and she finally got the chance to go on that date.
Rachel begged Eddie for another puppy, and he finally agreed to let her put a deposit down on a little male German Shorthaired Pointer pup 6 months before he decided to propose. When given the option to pick little Decker up on a Thursday, Eddie convinced Rachel they should wait until Saturday. Against her frustrations to wait, she agreed. Rachel’s parents invited them over for dinner so they could meet their new grandpup the evening they picked him up. After walking to the backyard, Rachel was surprised with her family and friends waiting on them. Shortly after the shock of seeing everyone, Eddie got down on one knee, and after Rachel sobbed (of course), she said yes! They got to celebrate their engagement that night surrounded by love and puppy paws.
