On January 7, 2021, they celebrated 8 years of being together. They decided to celebrate by taking some time off and travel to Dubuque, Iowa to try out some skiing (this was Jordin's first time skiing). Upon arrival to Sundown Mountain Resort, they checked in, put on their ski boots, and grabbed their ski equipment. At this point, they made their way over to the "bunny hill" to practice before hitting the big slopes. Jordin has never ski'd before, so she was pretty focused on how to move in the skis and avoid falling down. Austin proceeded to call her over to where he was and he told her he needed help with his ski boot...he told her he needed help balancing so he could take off the boot. Once Jordin finally made her way over to him, he went down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Surrounded by snow covered trees and celebrating their 8 year anniversary, she said yes! It was definitely the perfect time and place. It was beautiful!

Austin and I have been together since we were Juniors in High School. We actually knew of each other through mutual friends, however, we never actually met because he attended Central High School and I attended Centennial High School. In December of 2012, Austin actually sent me a message on Twitter (I know - such a Millennial thing to do, right?), and he proceeded to introduce himself. In his message, he proceeded to say that I was beautiful and he noticed that I was a Christian. Back when I actually used Twitter, I often shared Bible Verses, or other inspirational Christian posts. Austin and I chatted back and forth for over a week and then, we finally met in person at the Marketplace Mall. We walked around for a few hours. We did not buy a single thing, but we talked and talked about everything. After this, we decided to set up an actual date on January 7th, 2013. We went to see Les Misérables in theaters, and then we went to Steak and Shake where we shared fries and a Banana/Chocolate milkshake. I can still remember the booth where we sat and he asked me to be his girlfriend officially. From there, it's history - we have been together ever since. We finished out high school and proceeded to go to college in Bloomington, IL. We have both jump started our careers in 2020, bought our first home together, and rescued our sweet puppy, Marlie. We are excited to take this journey as Mr. & Mrs. and we cannot wait to celebrate with our loved ones! - XO Jordin
