FAQs

Question

Why is this just a reception?

Answer

We’ve decided to privately elope earlier that weekend—it’s what felt most true to us and our relationship. That said, we still really wanted to celebrate this huge milestone with the people we love. So while there won’t be a ceremony, this party will have everything else you’d expect from a wedding celebration: food, music, dancing, cake, and good company!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Sunday Best! You don’t need to go black-tie, but please dress it up a little (for the photos!)

Question

Are you registered anywhere?

Answer

Yes! We’re registered with Amazon, and we’ve also set up a honeymoon fund if you’d prefer to contribute to that. Your love and support mean the world to us—no pressure at all!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by Friday, August 8th, 2025. We’ll be finalizing food, and other details shortly after that, so getting your response in by then would really help us out. We’ll send out a reminder closer to the date, too!

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be serving buffet-style catering from Chicken Salad Chick, which means you can expect chicken salad sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and a selection of sides like fruit, vegetables, potato chips, and more. Please note: many of the main dishes will be very dairy-heavy. If you have a specific allergy, please let me know before August 8th — that’s the day we’re ordering food. I’ll do my best to make sure there’s something for you to eat (for example, we’ll have some dairy-free items like fruit, gluten-free items like fruit and vegetables, and vegetarian-friendly items like egg salad). However, I cannot guarantee that it will be a full meal’s worth of food, so if you think that may be an issue, please plan accordingly. You’re welcome to bring your own food if needed. For drinks, we’ll have: • A light selection of seltzers and beers • A bar with a few specific liquors and mixer options • Two signature cocktails • Non-alcoholic options like juices, soda, and water We’ll have plenty for the guest count we expect, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. If you have a favorite drink or a specific brand, feel free to bring it along. And of course — there will be plenty of cake for everyone, which might just be the most filling part of the night!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We’re trying to keep our celebration as kid-free as possible. We completely understand that for some of our closest family members, the only way they can attend is by bringing their kids — and as parents ourselves, we get it! So yes, there will be several kids there, but most will be older. That said, because the evening will include a later start time, alcohol, and loud music, we’re aiming to keep the guest list primarily adults. We encourage everyone to treat this as a fun night out away from the kids, if possible. If you do need to bring your children, please reach out to me before finalizing that decision so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We got a little excited and overestimated our guest list, which means we’re already running very close to our seating limit — and we want to avoid anyone having to stand all night. If a plus one was included for you, it will be specified in your invitation. If not, please assume no plus one due to space limitations. That being said, if you believe there was a mistake with your invitation and you should have had a plus one, please reach out so we can clarify. We’re keeping this an intimate celebration with people we know and love, and while we’re sure your plus ones would be wonderful, we unfortunately can’t accommodate extra guests unless they were specifically invited or previously approved. This will help us keep the numbers comfortable and make sure everyone has a seat.
