John and Bola first started talking on a dating app in the late fall of 2020, during COVID-19. Wanting to meet up face to face, they decided to go on a date in Athens, Georgia. Once there, Bola waited until she saw a man approach her. The man walked up with a hobo-like appearance- long, messy hair, oversized clothing, and somewhat dirty shoes. She was taken aback, and considered running away, but thought that was rude. Plus, she really liked his face. As their first face to face date went on, they both realized they had a lot in common and had the same sense of humor. Bola knew the hobo style was temporary: when COVID-19 let up, she could take him to get a haircut. Three years later, after a haircut, they are now happily planning for their wedding day and cannot wait to spend their special day with their loved ones.
