Carter and Anna technically met at a church retreat through Southland’s student ministry in 2021 but only one of them noticed. Carter had known exactly who Anna was for years. Anna, on the other hand, had absolutely no idea who Carter was. It wasn’t until after their first coffee date that Anna realized Carter had been around all along. ( I did go back on my Instagram to see if he really did know me way back then, it was true lol- Anna) Years later, when the timing was finally right and Anna was single, Carter seized his moment and sent the Snapchat that changed everything. From there, things moved quickly but in the best way. Their first official date was meant to be coffee at Luna’s Coffee Bar, Carter’s suggestion, unknowingly Anna’s favorite study spot. When the day came, Luna’s was closed. Anna, overwhelmed with nerves and secretly relieved, had already started turning her car around when Carter thankfully insisted, they still meet at the Starbucks down the street. Starbucks ended up being the start of something special. From that table on, little God moments kept popping up, showing them that the Lord had been working behind the scenes in both of their lives long before they ever ordered a latte together. Coffee dates turned into Italian dinners, favorite wines, and long conversations that somehow made everything else fall perfectly into place—careers, dreams of relocating, hobbies, and even TV show preferences (a true miracle). Carter started talking about how many kids they might have one day, while Anna focused on the more important things—like a long-haired dachshund and all the trips she’d take him on. And speaking of trips, these two cannot stay home. Whether it’s Colorado, Mexico, Wyoming, Florida, or Missouri, they somehow never fit enough travel into one year. Anna loves to suggest locations and let carter plan the trips...even when Carter accidentally books VRBOs for the next year. They still can’t get enough time together, whether they’re cooking, exploring, fishing, or hopping on the road yet again. Together, they plan to grow old, support each other through every season, lean on the Lord for guidance, and trust Him to lead the way. Their dream? A lake house porch, coffee in hand, grandchildren running around, Anna’s dachshund wagging his tail nearby—and Carter probably planning their next trip.
