Attention: I-80 has major road work along the route. Please give yourself plenty of time and check traffic and maps for any closures/detours.
Question

Where should I stay?Where should I stay?

Answer

Due to the size of the wedding and very limited accommodations, we, unfortunately, cannot fit everyone on-site. A list of recommended lodging for guests can be found on the Lodging tab with some personal notes. We recommend making reservations as soon as possible as it is a popular vacation town. You should also check out the "Shuttle" tab to find a location near a shuttle stop if you do not wish to drive the night of the wedding.

Question

Are kids invited?Are kids invited?

Answer

Although we love them very much, kids are not included in the wedding events (Welcome Dinner, Ceremony, Reception). However, they are welcome to join us for Sunday Breakfast. For couples who plan to bring their children for the weekend, there are licensed babysitters for hire - please refer to the links below for childcare recommended by our venue: https://laketahoesitters.com/ https://www.lostsierra.love/creative-partners/childcarebymackenzie/ Kids are welcome during the day-time (not during events) but must have a parent, guardian, or licensed sitter present at all times. If you have any questions about bringing children, please contact Adam.

Question

... and my pets?... and my pets?

Answer

While we know this is a pet-friendly resort, we ask that you please leave your furry-friends at home for the weekend. They are not invited to any events and could be disruptive to other guests.

Question

What should I bring?What should I bring?

Answer

It is too early to know the weather, but we typically can expect warm days and cool nights. We recommend preparing for a weekend at a lodge in the woods. Friday evening to Sunday morning, we have exclusive use of the entire 10-acre property, including: a Par-3 golf course, swimming pool, lawn games, and pickleball/bocce/volleyball courts. Additionally, the property backs up to several miles of open space to explore. Recommended Packing List: - Attire for the events (see FAQ “What Should I Wear” for more details) - A jacket or shawl for the evenings - Athletic wear for hiking or the various games onsite (volleyball, golf, badminton, bocce ball, etc) and a Swimsuit (pool on-site) - Refillable water bottle (there is a bottle refill station in the Lobby) - Sunscreen & sunglasses - Bug spray

Question

Where should I eat?Where should I eat?

Answer

On-site is a Starbucks that serves basic breakfast sandwiches and a brewery that serves basic bar food (pizza & wings); hours are limited. The venue is also located about 5-minutes from Portola and 15-minutes from Graeagle - both of which have a small store and some other food and beverage options. Please refer to the document linked below for a full list of restaurants and amenities in the area. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VCx277_zQg95K4Jl-nNIfNbM8SsBaeuOY7ui-OKtv08/

Question

What date should I RSVP by?What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Early RSVPs are always appreciated and encouraged! Please RSVP by April 14th by the absolute latest.

Question

I’m flying from out of town. What airport should I fly into?I’m flying from out of town. What airport should I fly into?

Answer

For our guests flying from out of town, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be the easiest and most efficient airport to fly into, with only about a 50 minute drive to Chalet View Lodge from there. We recommend renting a car for the weekend. Ideally, we’d love it if groups of guests joined forces in renting transportation together, so talk to friends who are going and try to coordinate if you can! Please visit http://www.renoairport.com/tofrom-airport/rental-cars for rental car information. Directions from Reno-Tahoe Airport to Chalet View Lodge: From the Airport, head west and take the ramp on the left to I-580 North. Keep right at the fork to merge onto I-580 North. Continue onto US-395 North towards Susanville. Take exit 8 at Hallelujah Junction for CA-70 toward Portola/Quincy after about 25 miles on the US-395 N. Turn left at the stop sign onto CA-70 West and continue on for 27 miles. Chalet View Lodge will be on your left after you pass through the small town of Portola, CA. Please check routes for any road closures/construction.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions? Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions?

Answer

YES - when you fill out your RSVP for different events, there will be a place to note any dietary restrictions.

Question

What should I wear?What should I wear?

Answer

Please note that the majority of these events take place outdoors or in open-air areas. Welcome Party: Casual Attire Wedding Ceremony/Reception: Dress is Semi-Formal. The ceremony is on grass and the Reception is on turf, with dirt and stone pathways along the property. We recommend flats, block heals, wedges, or dress sandals. Sunday Breakfast: Completely casual. Come in whatever makes you feel comfortable!

Question
