It was a cold Friday night in upstate New York. Jesse had just returned from his semester abroad in London and Emily was returning for her second semester back at Skidmore College. To everyone's utter shock, they both decided to attend Shabbat dinner with Hillel. They took one look at each other across the table and immediately fell in love... not! It's a long story, but they sure are happy with where they ended up!

The next few years include everyone's favorite Hillel Co-Presidency, many grand undergraduate adventures, as well as Emily's turn to study abroad (Copenhagen). Finally, with senior year approaching, Emily and Jesse decided to put their old rivalries aside and become friends. Fast forward a few more months, and a night at Saratoga City Tavern ends with a kiss -- one that shocked them nearly as much as everyone who knew them!

Jesse developed an elaborate plan to trick Emily (who is naturally suspicious) into traveling from Boston over to his surprise proposal spot on the beach on Cape Cod. After helping Jesse determine some of the details, Emily's parents (Laurie and Jim) convinced Emily that they were headed out for dinner with long-time family friends Mike and Ron (thanks guys!). Laurie and Jim arrived on the beach with a very confused Emily, and there Jesse was, standing in a circle of roses, ready to get down on one knee. Following the proposal, Emily's parents came back out to the beach, along with Jesse's parents (Lisa and Michael), and everyone enjoyed a beach photoshoot. This was followed by a delicious dinner in downtown Hyannis and then a small celebration with siblings and some cousins back at Lisa's rental home on the Cape!
