The grooms name is Bogdan Patsula. He is 21 years old and and was born in Ukraine. He came here with his family in 2007 when he was 7 years old. Bogdan is the oldest sibling with 2 sisters behind him. Our groom serves in several ministries at church. He is involved with teens ministry and media team. His hobbies are wrapping cars, fishing, camping, off roading, and spend time with his wife-to-be Diana.
The brides name is Diana Barabash. She is 19 years old and was also born in Ukraine. Her family came here a year earlier than the groom's in 2006. Our bride was 4 years old at that time but still remembers many memories. Diana is also the oldest sibling and has 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. She is very organized and loves to have plans planned ahead of time. Diana is going for a business bachelor degree and is almost done. Her hobbies are cinematography, painting, going on an adventure, being with groom-to-be, and doing manicures.
Diana caught Bogdans eye since Sunday school! Bogdan has always liked her through out his life time, while she never noticed it. Growing up, Diana was always around her brother and her cousin David, which was Bogdan's best friend. They were always together and Diana had no idea Bogdan crushed on her. Diana did not see Bogdan as something more than friends so she always kept her distance. The church Diana and Bogdan went to had a new ministry open up called SOL Lounge which brought a bunch of friends together and went to Sacramento downtown almost every Sunday evening. One night, Bogdan wasn't in a very happy mood so Diana came up and asked him if he was doing okay, and spent some time with him til he got better. After that night, Diana sparked an interest... and the rest is history.
Bogdan made sure to pick the busiest day so that Diana doesn't suspect anything! Bogdan planned an entire busy day starting by a visit to ocean cove for his mothers birthday. After staying there for a little, they had to head back home because we had a special wedding to attend. Their dearest friends Dennis and Marina got married! After the wedding, a few friends invited Bogdan and Diana to "get some ice cream." Little did Diana know it was an engagement! Bogdan and Diana start heading over to Folsom downtown, next to the ice rink with magical twinkly lights, laid out beautiful letters that lit up and said "Will You Marry Me?" And thats where he got down on his knee...
