Travel to Altea/ Si vienes de fuera

The Wedding Website of Connor Hamilton and Elia de la Llave
We are so excited to celebrate our special day with you in the stunning coastal town of Altea, España! Known for its whitewashed houses, cobblestone streets and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Flying to Altea ── OPTION 1: flight + flight + car The nearest major airport is Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC), which is well-connected with direct flights from major European cities like Madrid, Barcelona, London or Paris. From the U.S. you can fly into Madrid or Barcelona, then take a short connecting flight to Alicante. From Alicante airport/train, Altea is about a 45-minute drive. We recommend a rental car. On wheels to Altea ── OPTION 2: flight + train + car We recommend this option if you are planning on exploring and staying in other cities in Spain before coming to Altea. Take a high-speed train (AVE) from Madrid to Alicante-Terminal about 2.5 - 3 hours & 50€ max. (There is no high-speed train from Barcelona to Alicante).

Flight

Iberia

Iberia is the Spanish airline that offers direct flights to Madrid and Barcelona.

Train

Omio train

This is one of the more affordable high speed train options from Madrid or Barcelona, make sure to book it at least a week in advance to make sure is not sold out. Keep in mind that prices increase as the travel date approaches. In Madrid there are two main train stations, Madrid-Chamartin and Madrid-Puerta de Atocha. ONLY trains from Madrid-Chamartin departure to Alicante.

Rental Car

Europcar

When booking your flight make sure to book your rental car. Whether if you choose option 1 or 2 you will need to rent a car to get to Altea. Europcar is just one of the multiple options such as Avis, Sixt, Enterprise etc. You will find the rental car offices in the airport or train station.

Travel Note

It's really not that complicated!

I know it all sounds like a headache but I promise it's really not that hard. Please reach out with any questions, we want to see you there eating paella, having a siesta and drinking 2€ beers!
