In Brandon's Words: How We Met Pt. I

Informally we first met through a mutual friend in 2011. At the time not much was made of the introduction as the both of us were preoccupied by the times of our lives. It was more of a passing between friends of who is who. Olivia was young and in her early 20’s (I think maybe even 19); still trying to figure out how to be on her own for the first time and enjoying the lively life of a young college student. I was entering into my mid 20’s already living with a long-time girlfriend and just beginning to fully engage in to my career. Completely different stages of life. So in first meeting not much interest was given by the either of us other than “hello, nice to meet you”. All that known, there must have been something that caught the others eye, because as the years past and our adult lives evolved, we circled back to each other. I can and will admit it was me that reached out the her via social media years later. 2014 to be exact. I was newly single and had just moved back to Texas (San Marcos, TX) after living in Florida for some time. Olivia was still in Houston but had grown up a bit and was no longer some “little girl” to me. For lack of a better explanation, she had my attention in a big way this time around and I wanted a date! After some back and forth online and text messaging she agreed to go on a date with me. Our first date was at Flying Saucer in Sugar Land in August of 2014. I would love to say from that date, it was easy, we knew were meant for each-other, and we never dated anyone else other than each other ever again…..unfortunately that wasn't how it all fell it to place. That date was just a link to bond us. It was also the beginning of a back and forth game between the two of us that lasted 3 years!

In Brandon's Words: How We Me Pt. II

I guess I should explain….my job at the time had me moving from city to city frequently. Over a 4-year period, I lived in 4 different cities. So, I can’t blame Olivia for not taking me very serious on our first few dates/encounters. She visited me once in San Marcos, and even went to a friend’s wedding with me, but nothing ever really blossomed. The timelines just never seemed to match! That was until July of 2016 when I moved back to Houston. Olivia actually went on a date with me my 2nd day back in the city. The date was great, I had fun, she had fun, lots of good conversation and wine! So, lets pause here…. I’m sure you’re thinking: “Awesome, this is it, this is when they finally stay together for good!” HA, WRONG! She ghosted me after that date, and I didn’t hear from her for almost 3 months! I was blown away and very confused. That was until one morning I was having breakfast with a buddy of mine (the best-man) at a small Tex-Mex joint called Cyclone Anya’s. We were sitting at the bar (a little drowsy from the night before) and my buddy points out that the girl sitting in the booth behind us looks a lot like Olivia. I turn and 100% confirm it is Olivia, and then see that it looks like she is on a date! I have no shame, so I get up from the bar and interrupt their lovely date to make the most awkward small talk humanely possible. All to plant the seed in Olivia's head that I am still in the city and she can surely do better than this odd guy she is now apparently dating. Well that little awkward encounter worked, and Olivia texts me a little over a week later. “Guess who is single now!?”…and it’s basically daises from there. I entertain the text, we begin to go on MEANINGFUL dates, she begins to take me more seriously, I take her to ANOTHER wedding, and then on Christmas Day 2016 I introduce her to my family as my “Friend”. Whom they counter with your “Girlfriend”?

In Olivia's Words: How We Met

We "met" through one of Brandon's friends. At the time Brandon was in a relationship and I was the little girl who just started College. So as you can imagine we really didn't think much of each other. Brandon moved from place to place pursing his career and I was finishing my degree in Houston. A few years go by and Brandon reached out to me on Facebook....haha. I guess now I caught his attention. Anyways, he was coming back from a trip with his family and asked if I wanted to meet him somewhere for a date in Sugarland. We had drinks at Flying Saucer and after he invited me to come visit him in San Marcos. After our time in San Marcos we sort of went our separate ways, neither one of use were looking to settle down and the distance was tough.... After sometime we began to talk again and Brandon invited me to a friends wedding in Houston. It was not long after that Brandon finally moved back HOME! As soon as he was back he asked me out on a date. ( For a few months I actually blew him off and thought hmm "not sure how serious this guy is" ) BUT then I realized how much I liked him and reached out to him again. He invited me to another friends wedding ( I was known as the wedding date) and the rest is history.
