Amanda had her first of two hip surgeries in the summer of 2017. Because it was on her right hip, she wasn't able to drive. Those who know Amanda, know she loves a fresh mani. On a Saturday in August, her mom, Angie, wanted to go to a certain salon, but Amanda wanted to try somewhere new that day. Her mommom, Connie, tagged along. When they entered the salon, they were greeted by Ryan. They were all confused as to why he was there. Amanda even mentioned to them that maybe he was there as a greeter to promote business. Angie and Connie began to chat with Ryan telling them all about Amanda who was in graduate school at the time. Amanda was mortified and texting her friends saying she was tempted to get an Uber home. When they finally left, Angie slipped Ryan Amanda's contact info. He shortly added her on Facebook - and the rest is history! (Ryan's friend's mom owned the salon and he was helping out for the summer)

Ryan and Amanda traveled to Turks & Caicos last winter. Ryan planned the vacation, so Amanda was in for a surprise. They were staying within walking distance of Sunset Beach. On their second night there, Ryan suggested that they watch the sunset on Sunset Beach. They set up beach chairs and that's when Ryan popped the question!
