Laura grew up in New York, and Bob was raised on the South Side of Chicago. Bob moved to DC in 2018, to work on metropolitan commuter rail systems, and, thanks to her Covid WFH policy, Laura moved to DC on a whim in January 2021. In December 2021, they connected through Hinge and had their first date shortly after at a local Mexican spot called "Sweet Agave". Despite Bob spilling his margarita, the two hit it off, and the rest is history. About a year later, the two made things official in the most serious way possible, by adopting a puppy named Cooper. In late 2024 they made the classic DMV leap, moving from DC to Arlington where they host football Sundays (Go Bears), watch far too much Bravo, golf, and take Cooper exploring Northern VA, looking for new trails and the occasional pup cup. Bob pulled off the surprise of the century in February 2025. He organized a surprise proposal to Laura on the Georgetown Waterfront, followed by a celebration with close family and friends (some of which had been staying at the hotel across the street from their apartment, for days!). After almost two years of planning, Laura and Bob are so excited to be celebrating their wedding in Florida, in the community where Laura's grandparents spent the last years of their lives. They can't wait to bring their favorite people together in one of their now-shared favorite places, toast to everything that brought them here, and celebrate the next chapter!
