After almost 2 years of dating, Bobby knew it was time. He got the ring (which he selected all on his own) and before he even had time to plan a proposal, we found ourselves facing a pandemic. Unsure of what to do, Bobby rode the wave and waited for the perfect moment. He quickly realized there's no such thing. So, in May he finally decided the proposal was happening pandemic or not. He picked the date, May 13th. He purposely selected a Wednesday so I wouldn't be suspicious. It seemed as though the universe was challenging us as we approached the date. In the week leading up to the proposal, the Suarez family dog was lost for almost 2 days and Abuela was in a car accident and spent 5 days in the hospital (she's all healed now, thankfully!). A few days before the proposal I was informed that Bobby's nephew, Dominic, had a Family Tree project to do for school and needed photos of the whole family. So, we agreed to meet at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park to take the photos. The day comes and after a conference call that ran unusually late, I quickly got dressed and we ran out the door. On the way he told me he and his brothers had carved Dominic's name into one of the trees at the park years before while celebrating his birthday. He said we should try and find it again. "How cool!" I thought, knowing that Dominic would love to see his name carved into a tree. We decided we would try to find it when we arrived. I thought we were running late, yet we happened to be the first ones there. I thought it was strange but didn't think much of it. We get down and Bobby directs me to start looking for the carving in the tree! I looked and looked and of course, didn't find anything. He then tells me "There's no carving, I was just distracting you from this..." I looked up to see a caravan of cars with all our family and closest friends inside. The cars had signs that read "Priscilla, will you marry me?" He kneeled down, I said yes, and here we are now!
