Flight

JFK - John F. Kennedy International Airport

If you are flying in, we recommend JFK. You can hop on the AirTrain (monorail) to the Long Island Railroad. Laguardia is fine, but no one ever really likes it there. Laguardia does not have easy access to the AirTrain or Long Island Railroad, JFK does. TSA rules are changing on October 1, 2020 and you will need to have a "REAL ID" in order to travel.

Flight

ISP - Long Island MacArthur Airport

Islip (ISP - Long Island MacArthur Airport) is a regional airport we have become fans of because it is small and quick with security. If you do not want to deal with trains and don't mind a potential layover in Philadelphia, this may be worth it. If you are looking to hop off the plane with a dream and your cardigan, this is a good option. ISP is a 25-30 minute cab ride to the Holiday Inn Express, and a 20-30 minute ride to the Watermill. Train

Long Island Railroad

The Watermill and the Holiday Inn Express are both close to stops on the Long Island Railroad. You will need to take a short cab ride from the station to your destination. You can take either the Port Jefferson Branch, or the Ronkonoma Branch. The Port Jefferson Branch gets you a few minutes closer to destinations like the hotel and venue, includes one or two transfers (Jamaica and/or Huntington), and generally has longer travel time. The Ronkonkoma Branch will get you a few minutes further away and generally has better times for trains. If you are going to the hotel first, you can get off at the Stony Brook stop on the Port Jeff Branch (10-15 minute cab ride from the train), or the Ronkonoma stop on the Ronkonoma branch (20-25 minute cab ride from train). If you are going directly to the Watermill you can get off at the Smithtown stop on the Port Jeff Branch (10-15 minute cab ride from the train), or the Ronkonoma stop on the Ronkonoma branch (15-20 minute cab ride from train).
