How They Met

"That girl's a goddess."

William Shakespeare wrote, "When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew." How lucky would it be for all of us if love was always like that? Love at first sight. The notion is portrayed as fiction, but in the story of Bobby and Giavanna, it is very real. ...And now that we've gotten the butterflies and romantic nuances out of the way, allow us to take a leap from Shakespeare to a modern-day love story, but not any less poetic. In 2013, Bobby visited a pool party at a friend's house, and surprise, Giavanna was there. With a look of pure amazement, he turned to his friend and said, "That girl's a goddess." Of course, there was no way this information would stay a secret. Giavanna found out and she has been love-struck ever since. But no good love story is worth anything if there wasn't a hiccup along the way. As fate would have it, Bobby went off to St. Lawerence and Gia went off to study Biology at FSU. For the next 5 years, Bobby & Gia would communicate solely through Snap Chat (take that, Shakespeare). They bonded through photos, discovering similar interests, and becoming the best of friends - Discussing things like fishing, a mutual love for dogs, country music, boating, and skiing. When hurricane Irma hit Florida in 2017, Bobby's older brother's bachelor party had a last-minute change of plans. Bobby was supposed to be golfing in Florida, but instead, they went to Foxwoods. And like any good romance novel, Gia was also at Foxwoods for a 25th birthday party! With a quick Snap Chat, they put the pieces together and ended up celebrating together. When Gia met Bobby's older brother, his words were, "Hi, I'm your brother-in-law." What a line?! They danced the night away & Bobby made Giavanna feel like she was the only girl in the room! And in his eyes she was... They've been inseparable ever since. They knew then what they know now, and that is they have something they can't live without. It may not be Shakespeare, but it's pretty close.

How He Asked

"How could you leave the ring in the car?!"

It was a drizzly spring morning up at Lake Ossipee where Bobby & Giavanna were spending the weekend celebrating her birthday. Giavanna's sister and her boyfriend were there as well, so they spent time that morning trying to figure out where to hike... Or better yet where Bobby would propose. Without a destination (or plan) in mind, they drove up the Kancamagus Highway. Oh, to be a fly on the windshield when they realized they had no idea where they were going and were without cell service. Eventually, they found a short hike and decided it would be worth it to lace up their sneakers and give it a try. They stumbled upon a romantic waterfall, but what Giavanna didn't know was that Bobby had left the bag with the ring in their car (allegedly this was intentional). So, off they went, secretly searching for another hike, service-less. They ended up at Cathedrals Ledge, where their dog Louie joined them. When they arrived at the top, Giavanna asked her sister to take a picture of her and Bobby with the stunning background. As she posed for the picture Bobby faced her instead of the camera - he grabbed her hands and told her how much he loved her. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After what Bobby thought was forever, she said "Yes!"... They celebrated with a bottle of champagne bottled the year Giavanna was born and titled “Louis XV” in honor of their dog. What an incredible beginning to what is sure to be an amazing love story.
