We first met in downtown Mobile, AL during a beer festival in 2017. Bobby came up to me, introduced himself, and we talked all night long. I was dating someone else at the time so we did not speak after first meeting. Fast forward two months to Halloween, and I was out with a friend from graduate school. There was Bobby. We started talking and have been inseparable ever since. I am so glad we were both out that one night. Bobby lived in Daphne, AL and worked as the defensive coordinator at the high school. (Side note: I did not know then how serious and passionate he truly was about football until I saw him many different times writing football plays on any paper he could find). At this time, we were 45 minutes from each other, but he never failed to call me after practice every day saying, "Hey, do you want to go get food?". That pretty much sums up what we did together our first year. Not kidding. We went to the movies and ate at different restaurants every. single. weekend. He then moved to Eufaula and I remained in Mobile finishing up grad school. We became stronger despite the distance of 4 hours. After a year, I moved to Macon, GA, which decreased our distance to 2.5 hours! (yay) We spent about 2 years in different states, until I took a new job in Montgomery. Three weeks after moving in to my new place, we were having pad Thai for dinner at my apartment. When we finished eating, (with Bobby acting super odd the whole time), I opened my fortune cookie and it read, "Cameron will you marry me?", as he dropped to one knee. (And I then realized why he was so nervous!) It was such a private and intimate proposal and he caught me completely off guard. When we are not at the football field, we spend our time playing with the dogs, eating good food, or finding a new series to watch together. He keeps me laughing nonstop! We are so thrilled to spend forever together and also finally live in the same city for the first time!
