This is a must-see if you have some time to take a short drive out of the City! Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. From Sting and The Beatles, to opera stars and U2, every artist aspires to play on this magical, spiritual and emotional stage. Red Rocks offers a variety of recreation options from guided tours, hiking, biking, shopping, dining and a summer concert series. There is a shuttle service available should you not have a car.
There's no more famous spot for cocktails in Denver than Williams & Graham. It's an insanely cool speakeasy in Denver's LoHi neighborhood, and was just named among the best 50 bars in the world. Don't be fooled by it's humble exterior. You actually enter the bar through a hidden bookcase! We strongly recommend making a reservation on their website because this place is permanently packed!
By now, we've hiked the flatirons too many times to count! It's a great hike that awards you the most gorgeous views of the entire City of Boulder, where we met and spent our first 5 years together. If you are too tired, hungover, or just don't feel like packing your hiking boots, you can opt to drive up the adjacent road instead of making the hike. We won't tell. Be sure to stop by Pearl Street before you leave!
We have spent many an anniversary at Peaks Lounge, or "the Sky Bar" as we like to call it! Located on the 27th floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Downtown, this bar and restaurant offers stunning views of downtown Denver and the surrounding Rocky Mountains. It is one of our absolute favorite hangout spots in Denver. We recommend timing your visit around the sunset!
One of Brooke's all-time favorites! Finn’s Manor is a cocktail bar and food truck pod located in the heart of the RiNo district, featuring 16 rotating taps and over 800 spirits. They host live music, events, and some of the best food trucks Denver has to offer - ensuring there’s always something new to eat and drink every time you’re there.
A massive, multilevel restaurant and live-music venue, this Downtown hotspot features provocative decor and showcases an international menu of Greek, French, American, Asian and Venezuelan fare. The beverage lineup features myriad craft drafts, spirit-heavy cocktails that zigzag from rosemary-infused gin to mezcal and a well-curated wine and champagne list.
The historic Stanley Hotel has been famous in Colorado and beyond for over a century. It sits at the eastern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park in the beautiful town of Estes Park. Known as one of America’s most haunted hotels, it reportedly spooked horror master Stephen King so much that it became the inspiration for the setting of “The Shining.” Definitely worth checking out if you have the time!
The Denver Botanic Gardens, first laid out in the late 1950s, is one of the largest botanical gardens in the United States, occupying 23 acres next to Cheesman Park. The various gardens display plants from all over the world. There are 43 individual gardens, some of which are laid out in natural landscapes, others of which are in more formal gardens.
